The overwhelming majority of life in Mythros is considered a non-magical creature (commonly called animals.) Any animal that is not a beast and cannot channel mana falls under this classification. For simplicity's sake, I will separate these animals into three categories: domesticated, wild herbivores and wild predators
What I will consider domesticated animals are any animals that have been either bred or tamed on a widescale basis by humans or demi-humans. Whether it be for farming, pets, food, or as mounts, any animal that we raise in captivity for our purposes will be considered a domesticated animal.
The term "Herbivore" is one that not many who aren't scholars will know by heart, but most simply means any animal that eats food other than meat and does not pose a significant threat to humans. This collection will consist of any herbivores that are considered "wild," so anything that is not domesticated.
"Predator" is a term often misused when referring to beasts, but scholars have agreed that the official definition is that of an animal whose diet either partially or completely consists of the meat of other animals, but does NOT prey on humans. That is the main distinction between predators and beasts. This collection will not include predators that have been domesticated (such as scalestrides or wyrm haulers.)Â
